Chilean omega-3 concentrates manufacturer Golden Omega has acquired OmegaTri AS, the Norwegian developer of an innovative omega-3 compressible powder technology.

The move allows Golden Omega to strengthen its delivery solutions portfolio by acquiring an innovative Omega-3 compressible powder technology.

“The purity and quality of our concentrates are a key factor that allows them to be used in many applications. OmegaTri compressible powder technology fits perfectly with our product, resulting in a high-quality compressible powder,” says Jorge Brahm, managing director of Golden Omega.

The company currently offers a number of different delivery solutions (see image below), including GObar for nutrition bars, GOgummy (omega-3 fortified gummies), and GOjelly (omega-3 in jelly soft chewables). Under its new GOtab brand, Golden Omega expects to develop the business in worldwide markets.

GOtab also allows for the combination of omega-3 concentrates with a wide range of other active ingredients, including lutein/ carotenoids, zinc, select B vitamins, glucosamine and chondroitin, or sterols.

“GOtab powder makes it possible for nutraceutical companies to produce compressed tablets rich in Omega-3 of different shapes and sizes, as well as to incorporate Omega-3 into multivitamin complexes or to accompany it with other elements such as minerals, phytosterols or other ingredients, maintaining its neutral characteristics of smell and taste,” said Claudio Aracena, commercial director of Golden Omega.
